We recently received the
following e-mail and, while we are not prone to name drop, we are
absolutely over the moon that our profiles are so popular and thought we
would share this one with you.
Dave
These badges have proved very popular. I believe I mentioned that I
presented one to Admiral Lord Boyce and to his partner Lady Rutherford
at our AGM in October. My Wife and I were included in a small party of
Ton Class members/wives who were invited to the Palace of Clarence House
to
meet with H R H Prince Charles. He had agreed to continue his patronage
of the Ton Class Association for another five years and we were
presenting, to him, a Watercolour Painting of the Ton Class vessel HMS Bronnington, which he was Commanding Officer back in the 1960's. We
discussed the badge, which he found very attractive, and I sent one to
him the next day. I received a
reply from his Equerry saying the Prince was very pleased to receive it.
Dave, I trust all is well with you. Are you still travelling a lot?
Hoping to hear from you soon.
Kindest regards,
George Lea
