Subject: Nominal Roll of Vietnam Veterans

I am in receipt of information which leads me to believe that the Nominal Roll of Vietnam Veterans was to be completed by August 2007. I have also been informed that the process of placing the ship’s companies of HMAS Vampire and HMAS Quickmatch, for their service in Vietnam in January 1962, has been delayed because of the unavailability of listings of both ships ship’s companies.

As Honorary Secretary of the above Association I am writing and enclosing a facsimile of HMAS Vampire’s ship’s company listing taken from the Ships Magazine, which gives the names of all aboard that vessel during the Second Commission, and encompassing the years 1961-1962; which, logically, will include the period 25-01-1962 to 29-01-1962, the period that HMAS Vampire spent in Vietnamese waters.

I hope the enclosed information proves helpful. I would appreciate some form of notification upon receipt of this communication which will enable me to inform some of those concerned as to approximately when this information may appear on the new and expanded Nominal Roll of Vietnam Veterans.
