Subject: Agent Orange - RSL Support submission
Michael Annett CEO RSL (VIC)
With reference to my submission dated the 01st of June 2006, in
which I have attempted to familiarise you with the issue of dioxin
contamination of potable water and of its possible consequences to
many former members of the ADF who served in Vietnam and were
returned to Australia aboard HMAS Sydney.
I hope you have had time to read through the submission and now
share our concerns for our fellow former serving members of the ADF.
Would you please indicate at your earliest as to when the President
and yourself would be available to discuss this important issue
further. As I have a full-time commitment to Monash U, I would need
to specify at the outset that I personally would prefer if any
future meeting with the President and yourself was in the forenoon
of any weekday, mainly due to the supervisory constraints and
obligations of my tenure.
Mr John Atkins, President of the HMAS Sydney & VLSV Assoc. would
also like to be involved in any discussions regarding this and
related matters.
Regards
Dr John R Carroll
