Mr.
B Billson MHR
Federal Member for Dunkley
PO Box 501
Frankston VIC 3199
Monday 06th February 2006
Dear Mr. Billson
With reference to my letter of the 03rd of February 2006,
I am writing to advise that the Association’s invitation to you
regarding the traditional commemorative service at HMAS Cerberus in
recognition of the 645 sailors serving in HMAS Sydney 2 who never
returned from that fatal action sixty five years ago this year, and
are still as yet unfound, was in error, and that this service has
this year been relocated.
Please be advised that the 19th of November 2006 falls on
a Sunday. This being the case, the Association then holds its
traditional Commemorative service at the Shrine of Remembrance on
this day, usually with the guidance and support of Life Governor,
Cdre DHD Smyth AO RAN (Rtd), (1000 for 1030). This service is then
followed up with a luncheon at the function rooms of the Chelsea
RSL.
I
apologise for this oversight, and on behalf of the Association
invite both you and Mrs Billson to both the Shrine service and the
luncheon as our guests. We hope you will do us the honour of
attending.
Regards
Dr.
John R Carroll PhD EdD MAPsS
