Anzac Day Dawn Service (0600)

please.
Anzac Day March
Assembly Time: 0900 behind banners.
Assembly Point:
All HMAS Sydney & VLSVA veterans are to muster
in Flinders Street -
East
of Swanston Street.
Start Point/Time: The march will start from the corner of
Swanston Walk & Flinders St at 0900.
The transport of our
disabled ship mates during this years march will be a little
different, this is because of a Vic Police Directive. Ranks will be
six abreast with 6 paces between the Association leader and a further
6 paces between vehicles carrying our disabled ship mates, our banners
will be 6 paces in front of the vehicles. It sounds complicated but
Trevor Anthony and I will be there as Navy Marshals to direct Traffic.
As you may have read the WWII march plan has changed, the banners will
be grouped together, Navy WWII Veterans will march as a block behind
the massed banners and the descendants of WWII Veterans will march as
a block behind the WWII veterans.
Please note the following:
Please dress for the solemnity of the occasion, (tidy casual is ok) No
dirty sneakers, unsuitable T shirts etc, we are after all paying
homage to those that have fallen or have passed away. LEST WE FORGET.
The carrying of deceased veterans photographs will not be allowed,
this is an East European practise not an Australian, no prams,
pushers, or babes in arms.
Please make sure your Grandson/daughter is old enough to walk the
distance, we do not encourage carrying them.
Please contact me ASAP,
should you require to be transported in a vehicle
during the march.
Any enquiries, please ring David Dwyer 9720 8183 (after 1930) any day
